Trip Tip a Day

Flying Dallas-Heathrow-Stockholm on AA/BA, I encountered the following line up at the connecting flights area of the airport.  Prior to booking a flight, use this Heathrow link to check your connection time to allow for worse case scenario. My bags were tagged from Dallas to Stockholm and did not need to be collected at Heathrow. http://www.heathrow.com/flight-connections   If you end up with short connection time and a huge line, alert the Heathrow connecting flight personnel in purple suits, and they will expedite you to an express line. Tip of the day:  However it presents, enjoy a macaron from La Duree After a semester abroad, my daughter brought each of us a handpicked macaron of a flavor to match our tastes from La Duree in Paris.  When it's just one macaron, handpicked, and when it's flown in from Paris, and when it's such a pretty pink, and when it tastes so delicious, smashed has no bearing on the situation!

Tip of the day:  Spend lots of time at Macy's Flagship Store Icons of  NYC - the yellow taxi and macy's Herald Square 151 West 34th Street We found amazing selection and sales (bring your Macy's coupons) at this store - like nothing we have ever experienced in Department store shopping anywhere else.  Found the greatest Calvin Klein gray zip jacket on sale for $30, a huge INC. (Macy's label) department, some cool and comfortable INC. black pant/leggings, some unusual finds in the Alfred Dunner collection for my Mom, a snack and a rest at the Cellar restaurant to revitalize our shopping souls and soles and just plain fun looking over the merchandise.

After the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade, we ate a nice lunch, and had a great time ice skating at Wollman Rink in Central Park.   After that, we rented bikes and rode the full path around the Park.  To give you an idea of the size of Central Park, it took us almost our full hour of bicycle rental to make it around the loop once!
