Connecting Dallas Heathrow Stockholm

Image
Flying Dallas-Heathrow-Stockholm on AA/BA, I encountered the following line up at the connecting flights area of the airport.  Prior to booking a flight, use this Heathrow link to check your connection time to allow for worse case scenario. My bags were tagged from Dallas to Stockholm and did not need to be collected at Heathrow. http://www.heathrow.com/flight-connections   If you end up with short connection time and a huge line, alert the Heathrow connecting flight personnel in purple suits, and they will expedite you to an express line. Heathrow look left..... Heathrow look straight......that's a snake around line for connecting passengers Heathrow Security line London Heathrow consists of five terminals: Terminals 1 (currently closed 6.2016), 2 and 3, which are connected and a short walk from each other Terminal 4 Terminal 5; the A Gates are in the main terminal building and B and C Gates are in separate satellite buildings B...

French Treats - petits

Image
Tip of the day: Receive a French care package! Bonne Maman Tartelettes citron - the jam and jelly company makes these sweet little tartelettes. Just a minute - Ok, I'm back. After staring at the picture and going to their website, I just had to go enjoy a lemony yummy. The "cookies" are like a little inch and a half pie crust shell filled with lemon tart. In the Dallas area, Central Market carries them. http://www.bonne-maman.com/ Little French soap in the paper Little French soap out of the paper - some lemony scent here as well In a previous post I outlined my love for Cassis pastilles - http://europeantriptipaday.blogspot.com/2009/10/blog-post.html the other night I wasn't sick, but had a little cough attack in the middle of the night. I rolled over and pulled a lozenge out of the tin in the nightstand. So soothing. And now my sweet French c...

Choosing your airport and airline

Image
Tip of the day: Do some planning and research on your airline ticket - not just for price, but for the route and airports that work well for International travel. European trips are enhanced by smooth sailing on the way over and the way home. Try to maximize your vacation by doing what you can to create smooth airline travel by choosing airlines and airports that work well. Then, be ready to go along for the ride because the rest is out of your control. Sit back and enjoy your flight! We flew on KLM/Northwest nonstop Dallas to Amsterdam using frequent flier miles. Northwest recently acquired KLM, or the other way around. This was a great benefit for our trip because we knew we wanted to see the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam. I like flying to Europe on a European carrier - the trip starts the moment you leave the ground. Plus, free wine! Flying directly (nonstop) to Europe is a great way to start your trip. You do the whole sleep prescription thing (see previous post on minimizing ...
